Gary Koontz, Treehouse Builder

Gary Koontz - Machinist & Carpenter

Gary Koontz joined the team in 2006 and as a tree house project manager. His tree house building skills include carpentry, welding, and machining. He enjoys building unique and wonderful tree houses - he usually comes up with one new tree house design idea on each project. So if Gary is building your tree house, you can be sure that it will be a custom, one-of-a-kind tree house.

Gary has created tree house support brackets as needed for certain experimental treehouse designs. His experience with metal working is indispensable. The artificial limb tree house fasteners developed by Charley Greenwood, P.E. and others are precise instruments that are the key to supporting modern treehouses in the best possible way; that is, in the way that does the least possible damage to the trees and supports the greatest loads. Gary manufactures different types of artificial limbs, brackets, and other tree house fasteners at the Koontz family machine shop near Coatesville, PA.

Perhaps the most important quality for treehouse builders is to always be concerned more with quality and safety than speed or cost. Gary prefers to take the time to select the right structural parts and fasten everything properly. His care and concern help Tree Top Builders to be leaders in safety and quality tree house building practices.
