Tree House Construction
Our goal is always to reduce the impact on the tree when building a tree house. Unlike building a ground home, this foundation is alive, so you want to keep it healthy and happy. We can construct a tree house in any strong, healthy tree. In less than ideal conditions, we will suggest an alternative site, suggest using multiple trees instead of just one, or use ground supports to lighten the stress on the deficient tree.
Tree house construction is an art because it is inherently imaginative. The builder has to let the tree be the lead engineer and architect. Traditionally, tree house builders have used their intuition to decide how much weight a tree could hold, or how much load certain types of fasteners could hold in live wood.
But now that people are building larger treehouses, treehouse building is becoming more of a science. We use custom fasteners developed by Greenwood Engineering, and we can have full architectural plans drawn. Most building codes do not specifically address tree houses, however, once we design a tree house foundation, we can then apply standard building codes.
Tree Top Builders constructs every tree house to the highest quality and safety standards.
