Treehouse just north of Baltimore, Maryland

This family contacted us for assistance with their treehouse in Maryland. At first, they weren't sure whether they wanted to simply buy plans & bolts, or whether they needed some initial construction help. One thing was for sure - they wanted to be hands on throughout. It turned out that they decided to ask us to help them with the custom hardware and platform, so that they would have a solid foundation to work on. However, they had so much fun working with us, (and probably realized how hard it was to build in trees), that after the platform was complete, they asked us to help them finish the house on top too! Good thing Maryland isn't very far because we had to make a few trips. If you aren't sure how much help you need or want, then please check out our partial build treehouse page for more information.

Treehouse Materials

The roofing here was not cheap but it was made of recycled material and should outlast the treehouse with no maintenance. The railings were hand crafted by an amish woodworker in Pennsylvania just about an hour over the Maryland line. The siding is white cedar that grew in New York, was milled in Pennsylvania, and we brought it down to Maryland just for this treehouse! The tire swing, bucket/pulley, stain and rope handrails were completed by the owner after we finished.
