Treehouse #A15 – Great Falls Virginia

This treehouse was built for a very well connected CEO and talented artist. He selected some nice Chestnut Oak trees in his forested property which we found to be in reasonably good shape. At 16′ above ground, the trees had significant movement on those windy days in January. One day it even sleeted on Paul Gifford while he was shingling the cupola roof – that made him smile and the number one thought on his mind that day was how grateful he was to have work during a month when many carpenters are laid off.

The treehouse had a custom wrought iron tree set into the front door, Amish-made cedar railings, and a zipline out the side porch.
