Treehouse #A6 – DIY Network Treehouse Show

The DIY Network reached out to us to help the Harmon Brothers build a treehouse for “Lake Life.” We always jump on the opportunity to build unique treehouses, so we made room in our busy 2015 summer schedule for a trip to Illinois to build castles in the trees.

Building Treehouses on Reality TV:

The number one question we get about building treehouses on television is whether or not it is real. Yes, by and large, we really are building a treehouse in more or less the same fashion that we would build a treehouse for a typical client. However, sometimes we do get outside help that doesn’t appear on camera to make projects go faster. And, occasionally, we build small parts of the project or accessories that are temporary in nature just for TV production but you probably would never notice. Many of the conversations are either scripted, guided, or taken over and over again until it sounds right. Reality TV is, first and foremost, entertainment. However, people are entertained by treehouses, and they really are real treehouses, in reality. For sure.

How Much Does this Tree House Cost?

While treehouse costs vary greatly and each project is unique, we understand your need to have some idea what each project in our portfolio would cost to build. Please see our tree house pricing page for a description of the factors that go into each quote. This tree house as shown would cost between $140,000 and $200,000. Please feel free to contact us to discuss whether your project would fall on the high end or low end of this range.
